Happy Birthday, Daisy.

January 27, 2009. It is Daisy's second birthday.

I'm really thankful and glad that she's been healthy for the last two years.

On the other hand, I cannot deny that I have a little bit of sad feelings which I didn't have on her 1st birthday last year.

Two years.

Nice to meet you.

Time flies so fast.

Never mind about my dad's hairly leg.

I still remember the day when I first met her at the pet shop.

She was with her sisters in a cage and was intimated. She was the smallest and very quiet not like the others.

I took out Daisy and her sisters from the cage and let them free. Daisy's sisters looked interested in new things around them and were walking around but Daisy was just being cowed.

Then I decided not to take Daisy, but her sister which looked healthier and active. I asked the shop owner to keep her until I come back a week later.

In one week, I went back to the shop. The one I reserved was waiting for me in the separated cage. She got cleaned and her nails clipped and was ready to come to my house. On the other hand, Daisy, who wasn't my first choice last week, was still in the same cage.

I asked my husband, "Is this the right decision?" "Well, she(Daisy) looks weak so we'd better not take her. But I have a feeling that we have to look after her," he answered.

Sorry again about Dad's legs.

"Do you make any compensation if I take her(Daisy) and she dies tomorrow?" I asked the shop owner. "No," he replied.

However, I started to think that I might have to take care of Daisy as my husband said. "There will always be someone else who would take the other healthy pug, but Daisy won't ".Thus, I decided to welcome Daisy as my new family against all odds.

Almost two years have passed since then.

Daisy, my daring;

Thank you for being with me when I feel totally alone.

Thank you for being so sweet when I'm stressed out.

Thank you for smiling at me when I'm in sorrow.

Thank you for fawning on me when I feel I'm helpless for you.

Thank you for staring at me with your faithful eyes when I have nobody whom I can depend on and trust.

Thank you for forgiving me even though I hurt you and don't treat you well.

Thank you for wagging your tail and sitting next to me even though I emotionally scold at you.

I'm not good enough at all for you such a sweet girl but thank you for giving me lots of joy, strength, and a completely new life.

Are you killing me?

I thought I was the one who chose you at the pet shop but I think I was the one chosen by you.

Now you know that?

Daisy. I don't say, "I promise to make you happy," because I take it for granted that making you happy is my obligation. But let me promise you one thing today;

"I will be the happiest woman in the world with everything what you give."

Mom, see that? Looks yummy.

Daisy, I will be with you until you leave me for a rainbow bridge. And someday we will cross the bridge and be together forever.
